Spaghetti Squash with Italian Sausage


1 Hour

1 Spaghetti Squash

1 Package Of Italian Mild Sausage

4 Garlic Cloves [ minced ]

7 or 8 Basil Leaves [ chopped ]

1 Tablespoon Olive Oil [ the best one you can buy ]

1 Teaspoon Adobo [ spice aisle at the supermarket]

1/2 Teaspoon Pepper

Pinch Of Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Brown Sugar [ to cut the acidity from the tomatoes]

1  Can Of Tomato Puree

1/4 Onion [ minced ]


Cut the squash in half and remove seeds and pulp from center  , brush the squash with olive oil all around it and sprinkle  salt on each half . Place the squash upside down in a baking dish on a 350 F degrees oven .  It takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to cook. With a fork scrape the pulp from the squash and it should come out in strands.

Italian Sausage Marinara Sauce:

In a deep pan pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil , garlic , basil and onion . Stir until is soft [ make sure it does not burn ]  then add the Italian sausage cut it  in quarters and cook . Seasoned with pepper ,salt ,adobo . Once the sausage is browned add the tomato puree and the brown sugar. Let it cook for 30 to 45 minutes . Enjoy!
